NCLB School Choice Transfer Guidelines
If demand for NCLB School Choice and related transportation costs exceed the funds available, priority will be given to the lowest achieving students from low-income families.
The district makes the final decision for placement. Parent preference is considered, and priority is given to the lowest-achieving low-income students.
Transportation is not provided to students who reside within one (1) mile of the receiving school.
Transportation for students on an NCLB School Choice transfer may end if the student’s resident school exits PI, the designated receiving school enters PI, and/or student changes grade levels (elementary to middle or middle to high school).
Students on an NCLB School Choice transfer will not be eligible for Supplemental Educational Services (SES).
California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) rules apply regarding athletic eligibility.
