The most effective precautions

The most effective precautions for you and your family to take are the following:

  •  If  you are sick, stay home from school or work to avoid contact with other people and the risk of infecting them.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after using it.
  • Wash your hands often using soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are also effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
