What's New In Nutrition Services?

SRCS Nutrition Services Department Welcomes

Golden Gate Dietetic Interns!

GGDI logo pic.png

San Rafael City Schools’ food service program is pleased to offer professional guidance to Golden Gate Dietetic interns. Golden Gate Dietetic Internship is a program that facilitates interns to pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam. Interns in the program hold undergraduate or graduate degrees in nutrition and/or dietetics. Interns gain experience in a variety of practical settings, including food service management and spend approximately 240 supervised hours working in food service facilities. Amanda Warren, RD, production manager for San Rafael City Schools’, provides professional insight to interns to implement projects that enhance not only interns’ skill sets, but also benefit the food service program.

Examples of projects Golden Gate Dietetic Interns have completed in the past include:

  • Uploading nutritional information of menu items to SRCS website;
  • Providing education to food service employees;
  • Creating new recipes using ingredients SRCS currently purchases;
  • Promoting new menu items to students.
