ATTENDING & PARTICIPATING IN MEETINGS
Board of Education meetings are held in person (310 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael, Board Room on the 2nd Floor) and via Zoom for public participation. The Zoom link will be included in the meeting's agenda. If you wish to receive email notifications with the Board agenda, please email Morena Parada with your email address.
Members of the public will be able to participate in the meeting when public comment is opened and will be able to view and/or hear Board meeting proceedings with the exception of Closed Session.

For members of the public who wish to watch the meeting and not participate, you can watch the live stream YouTube channel and the recording will be available for viewing on this site at any time.

HOW TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT:

Individuals who wish to make public comment must attend in person at 310 Nova Albion Way or via the Zoom link posted on the meeting agenda. Public participation is not possible via the YouTube live stream. Individuals may also submit public comment in writing to mparada@srcs.org in advance to be included in the meeting minutes; the written submissions will not be read aloud in the meeting.

Individuals may address the Board of Education on agenda items on both the closed session and regular session agenda at the time they are under consideration.

Public comment cannot be acted upon or discussed by the Board unless placed on an agenda at a subsequent meeting, in accordance with the law (Brown Act). The Board may request staff to respond orally at the meeting or in writing at a future time.

A person wishing to be heard by the Board shall first be recognized by the president and shall then proceed to comment as briefly as the subject permits.

Individual speakers shall be allowed three minutes to address the Board on each agenda or non-agenda item. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 20 minutes. With Board consent, the president may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation, depending on the topic and the number of persons wishing to be heard. The president may take a poll of speakers for or against a particular issue and may ask that additional persons speak only if they have something new to add.

In order to ensure that non-English speakers receive the same opportunity to directly address the Board, any member of the public who utilizes a translator shall be provided at least twice the allotted time to address the Board, unless simultaneous translation equipment is used to allow the Board to hear the translated public testimony simultaneously. (Government Code 54954.3)
